Simply using a plank of wood to symbolise wood wont work as it could be seen as a brick, a phone or anything. I think what would work best is using an image of a branch to illustrate wood.


Having just re written my typeface brief i now need to research into other materials for the images i'll be using for each typeface.

So for my third brief im producing a catalogue of screws, bolts, nuts etc. This is requiring a lot of research, quite boring but necessary. Looking forward to starting to design.

Although the above isnt a typeface i like the play with shapes, some of them reminded me of letter forms.


Like how the above is built up by colours, shapes, patterns and layers...engaging.

My second brief is based on designing a typeface that will be seen in technology classrooms. Hence the above research on shapes and visual elements that make typefaces.
