Another quick nice idea using lighting which is something im going to have to use to my advantage.

Just by moving light over the screen i'll eyes are directed to what we are supposed to be seeing.

The slow motion of the moving images is nice and i would have liked to incorporate this into mine however this isnt something im going to be able to do since ive only got 10 seconds to show my ident.

Again my point proven that not seeing the villain makes movies much more tense and creates a lot more suspense. By simply seeing the shadow under the door makes us want to watch more, it creates suspense. A worry i have is that i arent going to be portraying zombie enough in my idents however just in this clip by just showing us the hand we know its not human and must be alien. So im hoping by clever use of audio and i'll be able to portray that the zombies in my idents are in fact zombies.

This clip is from what lies beneath, if you watch it you truly cant stop watching it. The suspense is fantastic in this, really tense. By lack of audio it makes the scene become extremely real, our senses seem hightened because of this, we are listening and watching intensely waiting for something to happen. More the anything the waiting is what keeps us on tender hooks.

Film 4 which im going to be promoting for uses arial as their typeface. Im going to start playing with this font for this reason giving it a grainy rough look. They've manipulated the logo, the M is completely different to the M in arial. For a start theres no diagonal lines in the logo yet there is in arial. The 4 as well is different, apart from these i cant find any other differences that may effect anything.

The above photos are sinister without any clever effects, the raw image makes them unique. Simply by using black and white as the only effect it sets a different tone of voice, a darker with a supernatural edge to them. Such a simple way of manipulating a photo but its great at setting the right tone of voice. Definitely how i want my photos to be looking

The contrast between black and white in Sin City is very effective in making it seem sinister. A device im going to incorporate into my images.

Its the imaggery in this ident which makes it shocking, Again nice simple idea. Keep it simple seems the way forward.

Not overly keen on the lighting on the type but i do like the effect of it shaking, whether this connotes fear or the word wanting to burst im not sure but it definitely works. Another aspect i can play with with my type.

Really like how this is brought in and how the letters drop onto the screen. It looks at the spacial aspects by moving the camera around the type. The play with colour is also really nice, something i want to do.

Like this trailer because of the build up. It starts calm and introduces us to the scenario, later it becomes tense and scary as we wonder what is in the woods. Id like to incorporate this kind of build up in my idents.

Looking at the type on these promotion posters for zombie films i like how they have a grainy effect, like dawn of the dead and 28 days later. Im unsure whether to use a typeface such as broken74 or manipulate a typeface like the ones used in the above posters to have a grainy rough look.

I wanted to make the point that by seeing the villain it isnt as scary. The previous videos ive looked at create suspense and draw us in by making us want to see whats going on basically. Once we've seen what it is we're looking for its not the same.

Again a simple idea. Tension is created by use of eerie audio. I particularly like how the camera very slowly zooms into particular points, by zooming in so slowly it creates suspense, we're expecting something to happen on screen as the camera focuses on a point.

Although this uses film which i cant do in my brief it shows how simplicity is enough to express the message. Its tense as we are drawn in closer to the wardrobe wondering whats inside.

The use of sound makes this ident work as a sci-fi genre. The music adds a sense of mysteriousness to the strange lights.
